The extra-occupational master in General Management

The extra-occupational master’s program General Management deepens your business administration knowledge acquired during your bachelor’s program. In particular, key issues important for entrepreneurial decision-making and action in medium-sized and multinational companies are addressed. You will deal with the impact of relevant regional, cultural and historical peculiarities and learn to understand contexts and develop strategies. Aiming at preparing you for a professional position in middle or upper management, leads you through educational contents in the fields of economics, economic policy, business law as well as theories of foreign trade, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. In addition, you will deepen your knowledge in finance, technology management, global sourcing as well as international production and logistics.

Attractive specialization und management skills

Starting in the first semester, you can set the course for your future management career by choosing a specialization. Decide which topics inspire you and choose your favorite from three possible specializations: Marketing Management, Leadership & Personnel Management or Controlling and Financial Management.

Additional modules such as leadership, international project management or team and self-management will empower your personal skills and prepare you for the complex demands on executives.

Take the lead on your ambitious career goals

With the extra-occupational, part-time master’s program in General Management you open up new career paths and interesting areas of responsibilities. The degree program optimally prepares you to assume leadership positions in medium-sized companies as well as international corporations in Germany and abroad. Possible fields of work are, for example, in marketing, human resources or finance. Also, management consultancies or business associations can present an attractive perspective. Last but not least, receiving a Master of Arts opens up the opportunity to continue on with a doctoral degree.

Specialization in Controlling and Financial Management

In your leading role as a finance manager, your job is to identify key figures, understand results in the context of complex business relationships, and accurately assess values and risks to make correct and sustainable business decisions.

The focus on financial management empowers you to confidently deal with analytical procedures, valuation models as well as strategic and operative controlling instruments, and to successfully implement international risk management and value-oriented corporate governance.

Specialization in Marketing Management

The specialization Marketing Management prepares you for leadership tasks in international companies. As markets change due to increasing competitive pressure, saturation and increasing globalization, marketing is becoming a crucial success factor and is increasingly connected directly to management.

It is, therefore, the task of marketing managers to develop marketing strategies strategically and to steer them in a targeted manner. The necessary prerequisites for good marketing management include comprehensive economic expertise, current marketing knowledge and strong leadership skills.

Specialization in Leadership & Personnel Management

The tasks within corporate management or leadership and human resource management are closely interlinked, as employees are among the most important competitive factors of a company. You will learn how to manage this crucial resource, find, retain and develop the best talents, thus implementing sustainable and strategic personnel planning and evaluating personnel decisions with regard to the company’s success.

Your courses focus on how companies and organizations evolve, how they recognize, analyze, and change power imbalances within, and how you can not only develop solutions, but communicate and enforce them convincingly.
