Dual and extra-occupational study programs are becoming increasingly important and popular. Reasons for this include, among others, changes in society and the labor market. Demographic change is causing increasing shortages of qualified specialists and executives. In addition, people work longer, while at the same time the demands on job profiles often change rapidly. Further education and lifelong learning is therefore becoming increasingly important, and one’s own initiative is becoming an essential criterion for career opportunities.
With a dual and extra-occupational degree programs, you develop your professional and personal skills, strengthen your own position in the company and open up new career paths. Often, parents also use this option to continue their education during parental leave in order to gain an academic degree.
The dual study program combines, your university studies at the EMS with an apprenticeship or vocational training. Parallel to the Bachelor’s degree, you will acquire a recognized degree as an apprentice from the Chamber of Commerce (IHK). At the end of your study period of just four years you will have two degrees in your pocket. This saves you a lot of time compared to completing first an apprenticeship (2 to 3 years) followed by a study program (3 to 4 years), and you are equipped from the beginning with a solid base of academic knowledge and extensive practical experience for your career.
You are aiming for a position with increased responsibility, would like to become a professional expert or qualify for new responsibilities? With a part-time study program you can accelerate the achievement of your professional goals. You will not only acquire an academic degree alongside your job, but also develop your professional and personal skills, thus strengthening your own position in the company and opening up new career opportunities.
