Anyone who works as a management consultant is constantly facing new challenges and requires a wide range of business administration knowledge. The master’s degree in International Business provides you not only with this, but also the specialized knowledge critical for the consulting business. Among other things, you will learn the relevant tools of corporate and strategy consulting, such as International Competitive Strategy. A common task for consultants is the restructuring of companies, acquisitions or mergers. Therefore, you will be dealing with topics of corporate organization and development as well as their interactions with strategic (re)orientation.
It is particularly important in the consulting industry to gain practical experience early on. The EMS therefore attaches great importance to practical relevance. This begins with the fact that the course content is taught from professors directly from the industry. In addition, as part of your studies you have the opportunity to apply your expertise in a business project, business simulation game and to work on real tasks in the field of management consulting. Between the second and third semester, you will gain your first valuable work experience during an internship in Germany or abroad. The master’s degree program prepares you comprehensively for a career in international business. Accordingly, your language of lecture is English. A semester abroad furthermore provides the opportunity for you to develop your foreign language skills. If you would like to learn and deepen your existing language abilities, further foreign languages such as French or Spanish are available at the EMS. In addition to language skills, we specifically train your intercultural skills. These skills are gained in lectures such as Advanced Intercultural Team- and Self-Management.
You have successfully completed your undergraduate studies in economics or business administration. Since the language of this degree program is English, advanced language skills are required. The successful completion of the International Business Master’s with the specialization in Strategic Management & Consulting provides you with optimal entry opportunities as a generalist or specialist in management consultancy.
