Becoming a master in General Management

The goal of the General Management program is to intensify your business background from your bachelor studies and to teach you how to apply it in the real world. In the foreground lies advanced challenges of medium-sized and multinational companies, their mode of action and relevant regional characteristics. In addition, you will learn another foreign language, intercultural skills and gain valuable practical experience. In this way, you will be optimally prepared for the professional challenges in middle and upper management of multinational companies.

Best prepared for your management career

In the master’s degree program in General Management, you primarily develop your knowledge on regional, cultural and historical aspects which play an important role in entrepreneurial decision-making and action. Together with lecturers from a management background, you will learn in small groups to understand contexts and develop strategies. Subjects such as economics, economic policy, business law, theories of foreign trade, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility create a broad foundation for your future management activities. You will deepen your knowledge in finance and gain insight into global supply chains as a success factor of manufacturing and trading companies. You can also expect content such as global sourcing, technology management and international production and logistics.

Attractive profile accents and personal skills

During your undergraduate degree program, you already had the opportunity to explore which topics particularly interest you. With our business master and a chosen specialization, you can start paving the way for your career early on. Choose your favorite field of study from of the following specializations: Financial Management, Marketing Management, Management Consulting or Leadership & HR Management.

In order to meet the complex requirements of executives, various courses will offer you the opportunity to develop necessary personal skills such as team and self-management, international project management or creative thinking and writing.

Academics plus practical relevance

You will gain valuable professional experience during your minimum eight-week internship at a chosen company. Many students also use their master’s thesis to combine theory and practice – use the opportunity to write your thesis in connection with a real project at a company. As the fourth semester is free of lectures in order to prepare your master’s thesis, you can use this time to take advantage of a semester abroad at one of our worldwide partner universities. This is an attractive option to effectively develop your language and intercultural skills. Upon completion of your master’s thesis you will be awarded the Master of Arts degree and thus qualify yourself either for a doctorate or direct career start into the international business world.

Take the lead on your ambitious career goals

With the master’s program in General Management you open up new career paths and interesting areas of responsibilities. The degree program optimally prepares you to assume junior management positions in mid-sized companies as well as international corporations in Germany and abroad. Possible fields of work are in marketing, human resources or finance. Management consultancies or business associations may also present an attractive perspective. Or would you like to continue your academic career? Use the opportunity to continue on with a doctoral degree.
