Strong economic area in focus

The European Union is the world’s largest integrated economic area – with countless medium and large companies as well as institutions, associations and organizations as potential employers. Graduates of the International Business program with a focus on European Management are specifically prepared for management activities in the European business environment. Getting to know the country-specific economic, legal and social systems and applying them to the different work processes in international companies is the main focus of this program. Marketing, sales, controlling or personnel management? The choice is completely yours, as this program enables diverse career opportunities in such a strong economic region.

Help shape Europe’s economy

Over 500 million consumers offer tremendous potential for companies in any industry. Knowledge of the market as well the economic and legal framework conditions are important prerequisites for being a successful company in the European Economic Area. Economic Europe needs experienced managers due to its high density of companies and its freedom to provide services.

EMS students within this specialization are well-rounded and trained through practical experience in economic, legal and cultural contexts. In addition to business basics, this program includes the necessary soft skills and foreign languages. You will become a proven expert on the European economic environment and international management methods for various sectors.

Your path to becoming a European expert

When you specialize in European Management as part of International Business program, starting in the 3rd semester you will acquire a deep understanding of European growth regions and the integration development of the respective countries. The module “The European Political Framework” deals with the economic and political union, its institutions and the legal area in which entrepreneurial activity takes place in Europe. Economic aspects are as much a part of the lecture plan as international management of European companies. The Transnational Management course addresses the specific challenges of managers and development strategies associated with corporate activities across national borders. In the last semester, the Entrepreneurship course teaches you the skills and abilities necessary to build your own business in this exciting environment.

Bonus languages and experience abroad

English is the predominant language in the European Economic Area and in your lectures at the EMS. In addition, you can learn either another foreign language or deepen your knowledge of English. During your semester abroad at one of our partner universities, you can explore languages and countries of Europe up close, which will are an excellent benefit to entering an international career. We are happy to encourage you to do your compulsory internship abroad. Our Career Service Department supports you in your decision and throughout the application process.
