Studying Business Psychology

The behavior of people affects the success of companies in many ways. Marketing strategies, for example, are only effective if developed with a deep understanding of consumer behavior. Desired change processes can only be successfully implemented in companies if employees are willing to actively support them. Thus, the factors economics and psychology are inextricably linked. Companies need experts who can effectively combine the know-how of both disciplines.

During the Business Psychology study program of the European Management School, you will learn a psychologically approach to dealing with economic issues, thereby acquiring interdisciplinary competences that are in great demand on the job market of the future.

One degree, dual competence profile

The study of Business Psychology qualifies you for an array of job opportunities within companies, as there is almost a direct link between economic goals and psychological aspects. In particular, this is true in the areas of marketing, a human resources department or in strategic corporate governance.

You will receive a sound business and economic base, supplemented with lectures in the field of psychology. In addition to basic economic and methodological knowledge, you will develop strategies for empirically examining practical problems from the psychology viewpoint. In addition, you will deal in various ways with employee, customer and business partner behavior. Included are the study content on trend and consumer research, organizational and personnel development or media psychology.

This Bachelor’s program at the EMS optimally prepares you for the challenges connections between psychology and business.

Practical orientation and learning

The study program Business Psychology combines theoretical concepts of business administration as well as business psychology with current challenges and questions in the corporate environment. During the course of your studies, you develop social and leadership skills necessary to be successful in the business world.

You will put your acquired academic knowledge to use in case studies, a business projects and a business simulation. You will learn to understand and effectively influence human behavior in economic contexts. Job opportunities upon successful completion of this program are very diverse.

With an eight-week internship in Germany or abroad you have the opportunity to apply your professional interests in different companies and departments, and further develop them in a practically oriented manner. This experience will facilitate your start within a well-known company.

Strengthen the internationality of your study programme

English or German? You can choose the language which you prefer to complete this Bachelor’s degree. During a semester abroad, you will be able to expand your linguistic and intercultural skills in one of our more than 100 top partner universities and gain valuable advantages for a career in an international environment. A second foreign language or in-depth English courses are also part of the curriculum.

In the German Business Psychology program, the focus is on the specific challenges in the German economic environment, and you are mainly prepared for a career within the corporate landscape of Germany. But even here you can integrate a semester abroad if desired. Likewise a second foreign language beside English can be chosen.

The combination of business knowledge and psychological skills is very much in demand on the job market. With your degree, you are best prepared to recognize and understand human behavior and to steer it in the spirit of entrepreneurial goals. Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree program, for example, can look forward to an outstanding job offer in the areas of personnel management and organizational development, marketing and market research as well as management consultancy.
