Application Process

Master programs for applicants from Germany

The study programs at the EMSs start in the winter semester (August / September). Due to the limited number of available study spots, we advise you to apply early. Due to this, we accept applications year round.

Below you will find detailed information on the application requirements and process.

  • 1st Step: Prerequisites

    The admission requirement for the acceptance into a master’s program at the EMS is a first academic degree (Bachelor, Diplom, Magister) from a state-recognized German or international university, university of applied sciences or university of cooperative education.

    Your first degree should have been completed in the area of business or economics and include a total of at least 180 ECTS credits.

    You are welcome to send us your curriculum vitae and academic transcript of records and we will check in advance whether you meet the admission requirements. Simply send it to admissions@ems.de.

  • 2nd Step: Your application

    Please submit the following documents to apply (for English Master’s programs in English; for the MA in General Management in German):

    • Letter of motivation: one DIN A4 page which answers the following question: “How do you view your professional future after your studies at EMS?”
    • Your curriculum vitae (CV)
    • Digital passport picture (JPEG)
    • Copy of your academic degree (Bachelor, Diplom, Magister) as well as proof of academic studies to date (Academic Transcript of Records)
    • Proof English language proficiency (if English is not your native language) through the TOEFL-certificate (min. 92 points Internet-based), or IELTS (min. 6.5), both not older than two years. Alternatively, proof of residing in an English speaking country for at least 6 months (internships, work) may be approved on an individual basis.
    • Optional: proof of your semester abroad and/or proof of job experience/internship

  • 3rd Step: Review of your application

    The EMS Admissions Office will review your application and available for any questions you may have. Within a few days, you will receive feedback on whether you meet the formal eligibility requirements

  • 4th Step Master interview

    You will receive an invitation to an interview at the EMS in Mainz in order to speak personally with one of our professors about your motivation as well as your study prerequisites.

  • 5th Step: Admission

    Once you have successfully completed our admission interview, you will receive a study place offer from EMS. To secure your place of study, you must confirm this offer within a specified period.

  • 6. Schritt: Zulassung

    Nachdem Sie das Masterinterview erfolgreich absolviert haben, erhalten Sie ein Studienplatzangebot der EMS. Um sich Ihren Studienplatz an unserer Hochschule zu sichern, müssen Sie dieses Angebot innerhalb einer festgelegten Frist bestätigen.
