The EMS is internationally oriented and the semester abroad is partly compulsory, partly optional depending on the chosen study programs. Studying abroad provides the unique opportunity to talk to people from other cultures, to get to know a new country, to develop foreign language skills and to gain fresh perspectives on your own studies. You can choose from over 100 partner universities around the world. So that your decision is well thought through and your stay abroad is a complete success, our International Office is here to support you.

The tasks of the International Office include:

•    Personal consultation about the semester abroad
•    Information events about studying abroad
•    Planning and organizing the semester abroad
•    Support when choosing the appropriate partner university
•    Support in the preparation of application documents
•    Consultation on financial issues surrounding the semester abroad

The International Office not only maintains contacts with our numerous partner universities, but also continuously initiates new collaborations. If you know an international and state-recognized university offering a study program that may be of interest to EMS, please contact us. We are happy to check whether a partnership agreement with that university is an option.

The reference collection of the EMS library includes standard books from economics literature as well as textbooks for our language courses. You can also view numerous German and international newspapers and magazines (such as WirtschaftsWoche, Handelsblatt or The Economist).

In addition, you have online access to a large number of databases, where you can always access current economics articles and publications on business administration topics. Use the databases WiSo and EBSCO via our campus PCs, which focus on the topics of business and economics. In addition, further databases are available online on the library page of the Cologne Business School. Using the Internet catalog, you simply search for author, title, keywords, publisher or ISBN.

The library at the EMS is opened the entire day.

To borrow books and journals from the library you need a valid student ID card. Should the media you are looking for be checked out you can also reserve it for future use. You will immediately receive an e-mail notification upon return.
