The tourism industry is attractive with increasing sales figures and diverse tasks. For travel agencies, aviation and shipping companies, hotels or restaurants, the demand for qualified junior staff is high. The qualifications required include industry knowledge, initial practical experience, excellent foreign language skills and well-founded business know-how. The study program International Tourism Management at the EMS optimally prepares you for an entry into the international business of the tourism world with the focus on a career path at management level.

Acquire and apply industry specific knowledge

At the EMS you will receive first-hand education about thee tourism business by experienced experts. During the first part of your studies, you will acquire sound industry knowledge of all relevant sub-disciplines, such as travel law, the analysis and fulfilment of customer requirements or special requirements for tourist services and regions. You deal with the tasks and challenges of tour operators, airlines, hotels and online portals. The second part of the study will deepen and expand your knowledge on, for example, topics from tourism marketing such as social media, event and trade fair management. And, now it is necessary to apply acquired knowledge to current problems and issues in the tourism sector. This is gained through various business projects from tourism companies, for which you will present your results. In addition, you gain practical experience during your internship in a tourism related business. You will on the one hand, increasingly understand the complex relationships of individual areas, and on the other hand, you will have the opportunity to explore your personal areas of interest. It is not uncommon that students find the first concrete goals and options for starting their career.

Your upgrade to management

The International Tourism Management degree program makes you particularly attractive for potential employers, as you will learn skills that graduates of a hotel management school or travel agents usually do not have. You will gain both industry-specific knowledge and entrepreneurial skills at the EMS. In order to hold a position in management, solid business administration skills are essential.
